My name is Rosalie and I am from New Mexico. My husband and I have been together for 10 years and we are raising three sons. We live at the foot of the Sandia Mountains and spend a lot of time hiking and picnicking around there. We also like exploring other places too. We spent a week in southern Colorado back in June. I could not believe how beautiful it was. I can't wait to go back!
My mom lives with us too. She has Alzheimers and I take care of her. She is advancing noticeably. I just enjoy the time I have with her. No one else in our family, that I know of, has had Alzheimers. Luckily I have found lots of information and support to help us. My brother and sister take over on the weekends to help me out.
First of all, let me say that I do believe in true love. But I also deeply believe in the complexity, variety, and downright insanity of love. A lucky person loves hundreds of people in their lives, all in different ways, family love, friendship love, romantic love, all in so many shades and depths. I don't think you lose your ability--or right--to have true love by loving more than one person. In part, this is true because you never love two people the same way. Another part of it is that, if your lucky, you learn to love better with practice. The bottom line is that you have to choose who you are going to commit to-that's the foundation of true love, not a lack of other options. ~Stephenie Meyer

I am Angela and I have two boys. Brantley is 5 and Jonathan is 2.
Despite what my location says I now live in New Mexico too. We have only been here since July. I will have to PM you and find out some places to visit in your part of the state.
Hi fellow New Mexicans! Today we went to the Jemez mountains to cut fire wood. We had to drive through the Gilman Tunnels to get to the fuelwood area. It was awesome!
There are LOTS of places to hike in the Jemez mountains and hot springs too. Life couldn't get any better than a good hike and relaxing in the hot springs.
As a matter of fact, the picture in my siggy is a from a hike in the Jemez mountains this past June. My 3 little hikers love it there!
My name is Frances and I also have three little ones. I would LOVE to visit New Mexico! I was born in Albuquerque but my dad was in the Air Force so we moved to Virginia before I was old enough to remember anything about it. My parents did save a baby shirt I had that said something about the Sandia Mountains.. I still have it... 26 years later.. imagine that! lol.
My parents are also living with us. My dad has Parkinson's Disease(and their home just recently burnt down so they have no choice but to stay with us) but I'm glad they are. It's hard to see your parents age and deal with health issues. But it feels good to be able to help them and be for them as they were for us.
Anywho.. lol.. make yourself at home! BOL is an awesome place for support. I came here a few years ago and now they can't get rid of me!

That's awesome you have a baby shirt mentioning the Sandia Mountains! I never realized how well known they were until I met people from other states.
I'm sorry your parents lost their home and that he has Parkinson's disease. It is tough to see parents age but it is a blessing to be able to take care of them. My parents moved in with us in December of 2005 when my dad was diagnosed with lung cancer. I also took care of him. It's the least I could do for how well they loved and took care of me.

I will def have to look into accomodations there. We are planning a weekend getaway soon to go to the mountains and take some wintery pics for our Christmas cards. Need to find some snow in the mountains. We also want to take the boys to a mueseum or two in Albequerque.
It snowed a couple of weeks ago but has all melted. I'm hoping for more snow soon but it's been warm lately. My boys have been comfortable in just sweaters! Last year in November, there was snow everywhere. It was perfect for picture taking.
I like to take my boys to Explora children's museum. There are lots of hand on learning experiments for them to try. Parents can join in on the fun too. They have an elevator that is as big as a bedroom and has several couches to sit on. Explora is definitely worth spending a day at.
