Hello girls! I just finished posting an update about Lily in The First Year and now it's time to move on to my big girl, Rayna!
She's set to turn 3 at the end of November, we are just starting to think about birthday party details. She has a lot of little friends so we will likely find a venue outside the home like we did last year.
She is little Miss Social Butterfly, and also a real Chatty Kathy! She never stops talking, repeats EVERYTHING we say and asks "why" about everything. She's got a real attitude, too... Which has been the cause for a lot of time-outs lately! She likes to argue, hates to eat a full meal at the table, stalls like crazy at bedtime and refuses to nap during the day. On the bright side, it's nice to have some conversation around the house and I love to give in when she asks for a second story at night time. It's so nice that she has an attention span for books, we read 2 before bed just about every night now and she has her favorites... Mostly Dora the Explorer!! She counts to 10 in english and spanish, knows all her colors, dresses and undresses herself, draws really well (lines and circles mostly) and loves anything crafty... Onew of her favorite things right now is Play-Doh. She makes "dog poop" (thanks for that one, Dad!!) and presses the Play-Doh into little moulds that came in a set. She helps out with Lily a lot, she loves to feed her and make her smile. The most exciting news lately is she is FINALLY using the potty!! She peed and pooped on the potty for the first time within 2 days of each other and has been really good with it since then. She doesn't do as well when we're not at home but I didn't expect it to happen overnight. We're very proud of her... I was starting to think she would be going to school in diapers at the rate she was going!
Anyway, she is turning out to be a really great kid and loves to help me do anything and everything. Baking, cleaning, grabbing diapers and wipes for Lily, making supper... anything I will let her do, she's all over. Of course we still have our frustrations with her as she is a very strong-willed kid... but it seems like when it rains, it pours and when the sun is shining both my girls are abolutely wonderful.
