Is there a difference in size in junior clothing and adult?
Sandra wears a size 12 in girls, but they are getting too short. I need the same size waist but longer pants, LOL Thought maybe a junior size would help, but I can't tell what size to get her. Same with shoes.

I think she may fit in a woman's 0(?).

I hate clothes shopping for her. It isn't much fun taking her with me either (and these would be christmas gifts).

I think there is a conversion chart but I would ask a sales associate. I seem to remember that size jr 16 was like a 2 or 3 in womens. So I bet she would fit into a 0 or a 00 as they have some in a store right now that are teeny tiny.

I have never seen a 00 LOL

I hope I can find some in stores near me. She has only one pair of jeans (and they are all 12's) that fit her well. I am thinking of taking them with me when I go shopping. But I don't want to buy the same ones, as it will look like she has the same jeans on daily. She has them on today, so I couldn't go looking, LOL

Oh, and a woman's 0 (if there is such a thing) is maybe not the same as juniors then?

I know Aeropostle has 00 and my friends daughter who is SKINNNNNY but tall can wear them. She typically has to to buy her a 14 in kids jeans but they are typically short on her. I am telling you the girl is itty bitty around her waist so I bet Sandra could wear a 00 or even 0 and I really think the difference between womens and jr is the cut. They tend to be tighter I think but not real sure. I know if you could get her measurements you can typically go to the stores websites and check the size charts and they give you measurements for the sizes.

Yeah I would bet a 0 or 00 would fit her with out a doubt. Aeropostal has great jeans, I love them, I wear them, well when I am not pregnant and they last, are very comfortable and durable and pretty cheap I have found some on clearance for 9.99ish and I know the most you will spend will be like 24.99.

I have to take Brie...she is all over the place it all depends on cut and style...she's so odd shaped.

First of all, let me say that I do believe in true love. But I also deeply believe in the complexity, variety, and downright insanity of love. A lucky person loves hundreds of people in their lives, all in different ways, family love, friendship love, romantic love, all in so many shades and depths. I don't think you lose your ability--or right--to have true love by loving more than one person. In part, this is true because you never love two people the same way. Another part of it is that, if your lucky, you learn to love better with practice. The bottom line is that you have to choose who you are going to commit to-that's the foundation of true love, not a lack of other options. ~Stephenie Meyer

Aeropostle, great! A store name helps a bunch!
Since I have to go to the mall for that store, I will check Penney's too.
Thanks for all your help.

It stinks that Sandra grew over 2" since February.

Ok...
So I went to Goodwill today (to try to buy back a book I accidentally donated, LOL) and found three pairs of Aeropostle jeans. 2 were a size 0 and one is a 1/2 (?really?)

I thought it was the perfect opportunity to see if she needed the 0 or 00. Well, the 2 0's were too small. The 1/2 fit well.

Soo, while she should fit in the 0 or 00 due to her size, they just won't work. gggrrr...

I sure hope they sell 1/2's, LOL because I never heard of those either.

Oh, and do they sell jeans for teens that are not skinny jeans? She hates them.

I believe a juniors 7 is like a womens 2-4 but it depends on the brand. A lot of brands if you wear a 7 in juniors you wear a 6 in womens so it really just depends...easiest to just try them on till you figure it out... if coming out of a girls 12-14 I would start with a 00-0 or a 2 in juniors to get longer pants.

but juniors are cut for young girls/teens where as womens is cut to allow for women that are fully developed and have maybe had children.

I found this
"It is not a simple conversion. What makes "junior" clothing different than "misses" clothing is the cut. Junior clothing is made for pre-teen and young teen girls who really don't have much of a shape yet. Even the larger sized will be cut more straight, not allowing for curves. Sometimes the pants and skirts will be a little shorter, too. Misses clothing is cut to allow the clothing to maintian its shape while allowing room for a chest and hips. Regular misses clothing is cut to fit a slightly taller person than regular junior clothing. On top of that, there is no standarized guidelines for sizing female clothing. If you have shopped different stores and different brandnames, you know that you may be one size accoring to one store and a different size according to another. "

Thanks for the info and link, Sara. I will check it out.

Just seems strange that I measured her waist, and it seems the 0 would be too big for her by those measurements, yet they didn't fit.

honestly with junior clothes you may need to try on a lot of brands at different stores in different sizes to find her size and brand. Some brands run smaller than others so a size to big in one may fit in the next brand.

i used to wear a size 2 at one store (their brand) and yet a differnt brand i wore a 6 and another an 8. (and yes this is before I had ayden...I am so not revealing my sizes now lol). But I tried so many brands and sizes and at the time my brand was Old Navy size 2....now my brand is GLO.
If she wears her jeans kinda fitted...if you buy stretch jeans its ok if they are kinda tight to begin with when you buy them because few hours into the day they get looser and looser.
Its a lot of work in the begining but once you find that brand its so easy to just go pick them up and buy them without having to try them on. but beware that a lot of times khakis seems to run smaller even though they may be same size and cut (i don't know why...GLO pants are that way).

Hope that's a little help and good luck.

It would also depend on where it hits her like between her waiste and hips its. Odd sizes are jrs and even are wemons. Ive never fit jrs they just arent cut right for me. What about seeing if sears or pennys have 14 slims or 16 slims they may fit or try a 1 in jrs. I think also the length is form the inside of teh hum *crotch* to teh floor so that amy help you find length. Also look online you may find the lengths that way to figure out what size. I buy most of Quinns at various thrift stores so dont feel bad there..lol.. Paid 1.60 for a pair of levis friday!

I just remembered that some jr brands are sold by inches for waist size & length (like guys jeans 28x30)....also different brands hit very differently on the body in jr's anywhere from super low rise (yes it is exteeeeemly low like almost gotta shave down there if not careful(sry) to fitting up near belly button (that would change how and what size fits)

Why can't it be easy? LOL
I don't think there ever was a time that buying pants for her was simple.

I feel for you. Even when I was skinny I had a big rear end and hips (not out of proportion just bigger than pants allowed for my waist size) so I had to buy bigger and wear a belt and they would scrunch up, so uncomfortable....Finally found that old navy fit both hips and waist. Funny thing was when they x-rayed my pelvis after my accident they couldn't believe I had a child my pelvis is smaller than most woman's even before a child. Go figure.
