I swear! The first midterms we got this year Austin had an F on his. After me talking to his teacher it was determined that the major problem was he had a quiz that he missed because he was sick one day and she gave it to him to bring home to do and turn in and he just never felt the need to do that I guess. So since that was a big part of his grade and it went in as a 0 it dropped his grade big time. Once he turned it in(even with not doing well on it) he brought his grade up to a C. Well I had looked at the website that has his grades on it and saw he had some 0's in a couple classes. So I talked to him again about the importance of just turning the things in because even if he doesnt do well on it, it still helps his grade. Well he would have made A/B honor roll again had he not had 4........yes 4 zero's in Science. Gahhhhh. So I cant find the grading scale but he is getting a 68 in there. Not good, I know that much. So lucky for him wrestling is over and he is going to be coming home and showing me his binder every day so I can make sure there is no work in there to be done. The thing he has been doing is, saying he needs something to do in SRT(study hall) so he rarely works on homework here. But I guess he is going to have to start reading books during SRT since I want to see him doing his homework here at home. That is just ridiculous.

We have an awful time with homework completion and handing it in here with Justin as well. I feel your frustration.

Yeah its very irritating! Eric and I talked and decided to take his phone away for 3 weeks. Eric wants him to get ALL his grades up to A's and if he doesnt have them up there he will go another 2 weeks without his phone. It's torture for him so hopefully that will motivate him to see to it that he gets his grades up. His GPA so far is 3.8 so its not that bad I guess but still its the fact we know what he is capable of and he isnt doing that.

Gah!! I totally sympathize....we are going through this now....I'm hoping it works...we grounded her for 9 weeks, even though the grades are up

First of all, let me say that I do believe in true love. But I also deeply believe in the complexity, variety, and downright insanity of love. A lucky person loves hundreds of people in their lives, all in different ways, family love, friendship love, romantic love, all in so many shades and depths. I don't think you lose your ability--or right--to have true love by loving more than one person. In part, this is true because you never love two people the same way. Another part of it is that, if your lucky, you learn to love better with practice. The bottom line is that you have to choose who you are going to commit to-that's the foundation of true love, not a lack of other options. ~Stephenie Meyer

Hugs It's the worst when you know he's capable and he just isn't performing to his potential. I totally think you're doing the right thing. Good luck, hope he can pull those grades back up!
