Are your kids going to any camps this summer? My kids just got back from Church camp. They both had a blast. I took them Sunday at 7pm Alisyn did the regular residential camp they have and Austin did the Wilderness camp. In Alisyns they spent the morning working on bible studies and then in the afternoon they did things like hike, swim, have a little olympics competition etc. She had a blast and made some new friends. She exchanged phone numbers with several girls. I picked her up on tuesday then I went last night to get austin. He too had fun, with his they stayed in a cabin with no electricity and cooked their meals on either an open fire or a little grill type thing depending on what they ate. He got to go on a zipline, hiking every day, swimming, and some other things. They had planned on going tubing but that got canceled. Oh and he got to go see Indiana's biggest waterfall too. He also had a blast and was not ready to leave. He made lots of friends too, one he met last year when he went for an overnight camp with his grandma. That is the only camp they are doing because even though our church paid for half of the cost for all the kids that wanted to go my half was still a little pricey. Besides we have LOTS of 4H projects to work on over the next few weeks. lol

We may not have it all together, but together we have it all!

my kids went to vacation bible camp at church because I directed it. And Hailey went to camp reyoad with me last week, a camp for mentally challenged adults that I work at every summer for a week, but other than that, we are probably a little young for camp.

But the camp your kiddos went to sounds awesome

YES!!! Tyler is in summer camp at our local rec center, monday through friday, 9-3. they have 2 field trips every week, to the museum, movies, bowling, zoo, fun centers, and more! he loves it and has met new friends. when not on field trips and just at the rec center they have game room, arts and crafts, outside play, gym sports, and more.

jordan is home with me - but we're doing swim lessons. and every tues/wed at 10 am our local movie theater is doing .50 movies during the summer (g and pg rated movies) so we'll be doing that a couple times too.

Yep, Aly went to GA Church camp all last week. She left Monday morning and came home at 1 on Friday.
She had a BLAST!
They had Bible study in the mornings, missions time in the afternoon, chapel, then lots of free time, with swimming, hiking, canoeing, fishing, she got to shoot a bb gun, oh and they have crafts every day.
She came on with a couple of phone numbers to some new friends she met. One of the called her Saturday. LOL

Normally all 3 of the bigger kids Do but not Emma yet.
But Anthony had to go to a few different camps for college and they were/are all out of state except 1 so it was too costly for me to send Derek & Halie too. But next year they will go again.

Like Marybeth, mine are doing a bunch of activities, but no camps. Still a bit too young yet, for me. Plus, I guess you could say they're doing Chelle's idea.....Camp Grammy and Grandpa in July and Camp Grandma and Grandad in August.

ahhh I am jealous of the camp grandma and grandpas.........lol. My kids grandparents never take them for a day let alone over night. Now Austin has gone to my parents for a few hours to work on a 4H project but if it werent for that then there would be nothing. Oh well I guess Alisyn is staying with my grandma this next week because she is helping to dog sit my parents dogs while they are on vacation. But thats it as far as grandparents go. Blah!

LOL Chelle. I remember when Aaron used to go to spend the summers with his pawpaw(my dad), I'd drop him off sunday night and pick him up Friday night or Sat morning. He only lived 10 minutes away from me but they both LOVED it! Of course it helped me alot, not having to take him anywhere before work in the mornings.

Let me clarify a bit. The boys will be going to my in-laws' house for a week, but I'll still have Leah with me. As for camp with MY parents, that's a family reunion that we'll all be attending. Don't kid yourself, though. If my parents could steal the kids for a week by themselves they'd be totally all over it. They just live too dang far away.
