My poor pumpkin didnt have a great one yesterday. I took her in for her four month check up (she's 24 inches long and weighs 13 lbs 9 oz) and we got her shots. Since I'm a rotten mommy and didnt get her shots at two months.. we get to go back in four weeks for round two... and then in another four weeks for her six month shots. So boom boom boom! She cried of course but she did very well with them. Mainly slept the rest of the day/night. Well we took the girls to McDonalds and they were playing in the play land. There was a little girl there that was about to turn two and she was completely fascinated by Emmalyn. Her mom told me she was expecting in a few months so I was letting the girl look at Emma, touch her (nicely) and that kind of thing. Well I'm standing there later and the girl comes back to see Emmalyn. All of a sudden Emmalyn just starts screaming.. that scream of pain. I look down to find the girl biting her big toe! I didnt have her in shoes or socks because its hot and she doesnt care for them anyways. I was just in shock. It took me a second to get the girl to let go. The mom apologizes and puts the girl in time out for a minute and then they leave. The dad comes up and was like, "Did she break the skin? She's got a thing for biting toes. Dont know why". That would have been nice info to have earlier! lol. I told the mom Emmalyn was okay (her big toe was just really red and she wouldnt stop crying but it didnt leave any teeth marks or break the skin, Thank God) and I told the mom I understood she wasnt even two yet and that kids do things sometimes. I told Jesse what happened (he wasnt around) after they left and he was upset that Emmalyn might get a disease or something. I'm just glad he wasnt there.. he probably wouldnt have been as nice as I was about it. lol. But she it looks okay today and she's back to her normal self. Poor little bit!

What a day... Poor baby...

I'm not sure I would've been so nice... I know kids do weird things, but when Anne is looking at someone else's (especially a stranger's) baby, or cat, or dog or whatever, I keep a close eye on her to make sure she doesn't hurt them...

oh my i'm glad she's okay, i have a hard time dealing with kids for that reason, i like to let them see Nicholas and all but i've had some be mean to him before i could step in

lol Kim I was so shocked I wasnt sure how to react. A part of me wanted to just go off on them but I knew they couldnt control what she did (even though I'm like you, if my kids are looking at a baby they are not allowed to touch and I'm standing right there with them holding their hands or whatever to keep them from doing anything). And my mind realized that the mom was pregnant and that was probably going to bug her for the rest of the day and into the night. I remember when bad things happened to me when I was pregnant.. it bothered me so much more than it would have if I wasn't. So I just tried to be as nice as I could but I wasnt overly friendly. lol. I just hope they break that girl of her habit of toe biting before the new baby gets here. They are going to have to watch that kid like a hawk if they dont.. I'm honestly surprised Emmalyn's toe didn't break . When I told Jesse about it he was like, "I would have gotten their name, number, address and telling them I was taking Emmalyn to get checked out at a hospital". I'm not sure if that would have been the best way to go or if he was being dramatic. I figure since the skin wasnt broken.. she's okay.

Oh poor baby girl. I think you handled it wonderfully and I am sure the mom felt horrible. HUGS

1st for next round of shots give her the tylenol so the meds will be in her before you go...

awwww poor baby girl!! I think you handled it well, if the skin didnt break I dont think you have worry about diseases. But like you I am over my kids like a hawk if they are messing with a baby(especially a complete strangers baby which then I wouldnt let them touch the baby).

Poor little thing! Hope her toesie feels better today! And I would have done just what you did, btw.

Poor girlie she did have a rough day! But I think you handled it very well.....kids will be kids no matter how much a parents watches them. The good thing was that the mom and dad did something about it, I could only be upset with them if they didn't correct her.

ouch poor baby..im glad it didnt leave a mark or break the skin.I dont think i woulda been as nice...they knew about the biting habit..they should have been watching her when they saw she was looking at a small baby.

I am glad she is back to normal and i would have reacted the same way as you too.
