having another baby Ultimately we both decided that if we can pay off all of our credit card debt in five years (which is a ton of debt but we're really working on it.. it's in his mom's name so we can't just declare bankruptcy on it) we'll have another. By then we may be past the point of needing a little one in the house as all three of ours will be in school but it gives me drive to get this credit card paid down anyways! I swore I was done and I just may be yet.... I guess we'll see how I feel in five years IF that debt is gone (or at least mostly gone!)

Frances, I really respect how you are trying to make sure you have everything the best you can before adding again to your family. I know that's a really hard decision for people to make and I think it really shows your strength of character that you are being a parent before even getting pregnant with this maybe someday little one. Good job. If there were more parents like you, this world would be a much better place!

Good for you try reading that book by David Ramsey. I sold my 04 fully decked out Nissan maxima to drive a 1997 chevy subrban that cost $1500.00. It saves us including on the gas because its desiel like $500.00 a month. I took me 3 months and my very last credit card was paid off.

No kidding he had great ideas and we have been able to cut our bills in half and only one credit card left and we had almost 6 at one time.

Try it out when we did our summary with his worksheet we were basically blowing around 20K a year on "stuff" like fast food. 20K is alot of junk food and $9.00 movies.

eeek how exciting and what a great motivation to get your debt paid down. I want to work on that for us but to be able to do an addition onto our house. It's laid out pretty whacky but we have been told our attic is plenty big enough and would be an easy finish to add some room so I want to put 2-3 bedrooms up there so we can use the bedrooms we have downstairs for other things, like an office lol.

I think it is a good idea to wait, though its easy to say and much harder to do, sometimes the drive to conceive is very strong! Good luck either way you go girl!

lol Lauren it's not hard for us to wait at all. We are extremely blessed with our three girls. Some days I feel they are plenty and even feel guilty for considering having another. The time may come where we say "okay you know what we REALLY are done" and that's fine too. We love our kids and have always wanted four but if that's not what God has planned for us, we're thankful for what we have. I'm just glad we have a goal. In the end, at least the credit card debt will be gone in a few years if nothing else and it gives us time to to finalize a decision on what's best for our family.

I think that is wonderful!!! Good luck with your bills and all. I wish we could do that with our debt. Like Veronica, I can GUARANTEE we spend at least 20-30K on fast food and going out to eat. I am HORRIBLE at that. We would save a ton of money if we stopped that, but I love going out to eat, and sometimes for us its necessary cuz we are on the road a lot. lol
