We went to dinner at a local play area last night and there was a woman there w/3 kids, about 8,6,5...So the oldest boy was acting up and the mom told him about 4-5 to stop it ,he was hitting ,pushing and yelling at his brother and sister and running around yelling at kids, then the worker came in and said something because he was climbing on the outside of the playarea, then he pushed down another kid earlier and that kids mom said something to her..So the mom put him in a time out at another table. So he said something snotty to her.(i could not make out exactly what he said)So she went up to him grabbed his head and was talkking directly to his face, and this part I did not see but my neighbor said she sort of pushed his head around,So this man who must have seen came up and said something to her while she was still bent over talking to the boy in his face.I looked up and I heard him say something about jail, the woman did not even acknowledge his presence. So after she was done talking to the boy,she went out to order their food and after sitting there a few minutes a police officer walked in.She had her sit at a table and they talked for a few minutes then she called the boy over to look at him ,so she taklked to her a little more then left. So my neighbor was like , your kid acts up and you get in trouble from other parents then when you discipline them you get in trouble from people who dont have their kids there...lol I bet she`ll be staying out of playareas for a bit.
Yep isnt that how it works?!?!? Let them act a fool and the parents are going to be giving you the looks and talking about you, then you discipline them and they are giving you the looks and talking about you. You just cant win with some people. I really hate that other parents are so judgmental and I would soooo love to see how they act behind closed door sometimes lol.
We may not have it all together, but together we have it all!
Oh my goodness. Some people just need to mind their own business. No wonder the boy is acting that way if the mother's hands are tied in disciplining him.
I agree some people should mind their own business! A parent has every right to discipline their child whether out in public or private immediately upon bad behavior. I have no problem doing a time out in a store or restaurant or if they're really bad a spanking (which doesn't happen often) Now if she was constantly smacking the kid upside his head then thats not right... At least she was trying to do something about his behavior rather than let him run amuck!
