Summer camp sent home a letter to the parents today indicating one of the kids has head lice. They didn't say who or what group the kid was in...so we have no idea if Tyler had contact with this kid. UGH!! I'll be doing a head check the next few days just to make sure he's clean.

You can go ahead and do a RID one or something.as a precaution...it keeps them also from getting it for up to two weeks I believe.

fun fun, glad we dont have to worry about that right now since my kids are home with me and not going anywhere really. Our school never discloses who the kid is or anything like that either so I am sure the camp didnt let you know so nobody is speculating who it is and then having kids make fun of them.

I hope he is all clear. When I was in high school we had a child development class w/ 4 year olds it and 2 of them had it. They made everyone in that class go get checked at the nurses office. I was so scared and grossed out at the same time but it was all clear.

I went to publix to buy a nix kit and asked the pharmacity about it. he said it is a pesticide that kills what is already there, but does not protect against it. so basically i need to keep checking tyler and if i see something then treat it. ugh. i soo hope he doesn't have it, because then jordan or myself or dh might get it too.

Hopefully he won't get it. But I understand why they don't disclose what group the child was in.

I would treat him regardless just to be safe.

go to walmart and get the suave coconut shampoo and tea tree oil, put about 10 drops in the shampoo and shake. Use it on the kids. It prevents lice because lice hate the tea tree oil. the suave coconut shampoo helps with the tea tree oil smell. This is a tip we got from the preschool Jordyn had gone too and it works they had several outbreaks and Jordyn never got any.

Oh nasty. I HATE getting those letters from the school and stuff!!! So far we have been super lucky and have not gotten it at all. I remember when I was a kid and my sisters and brother got it and my mom said that she spend hundreds of dollars because they kept getting it back from kids at school. Finally my mom told the school that she was not sending her kids back until they found out who kept spreading it.

Yikes! Hope the spreading stops... I hate dealing with those creepy crawlies...
