I heard they were really good...so my friend Darrah bought the first one...and read about 3 chapters...she said the slang was really hard to get sometimes...and that it was more violent I guess than the other books....so I never really tried to read it
First of all, let me say that I do believe in true love. But I also deeply believe in the complexity, variety, and downright insanity of love. A lucky person loves hundreds of people in their lives, all in different ways, family love, friendship love, romantic love, all in so many shades and depths. I don't think you lose your ability--or right--to have true love by loving more than one person. In part, this is true because you never love two people the same way. Another part of it is that, if your lucky, you learn to love better with practice. The bottom line is that you have to choose who you are going to commit to-that's the foundation of true love, not a lack of other options. ~Stephenie Meyer

The first couple chapters of the first book are really hard to get into because it's not till the middle of the book that they tell you exactly who Damali is and the whole purpose of everything. Once you get past that is starts to get really good and then ends with a cliffy so you need to read the second book lol I am a really fast reader if I like something and it took me a good 4 days to get into this book, once I got past the middle part, I finished it in a few hours. If I could compare it to anything I would say it's kind of like the movie Underworld but in book form.

Darn it, I hoped the ebonics would get better once the series went on! It really detracts from the story line. I can't believe the other book are hard to get into as well! I was hoping it was just the first one. Oh well, I guess I can move on to Black Dagger Brotherhood now : )

Oh that's a great description! Underworld is not my cup of tea though...but I could be surprised...Vampires use to not be either...but I find now I LOVE vampires!

Nope it doesn't, in fact if possible the ebonics gets worse because there are 14 characters in the cursed that get a lot of talk time and all ebonics. LOL It is one that I shake my head and try to figure out why I bothered to finish it when I will try so hard to just stop reading a book when it doesn't interest me, but I too kept reading in hopes that it would get better.
