Cell Phone Used To Run Up $5,000 Bill Hammered
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) ― Click to enlarge A cell phone used by a Wyoming 13-year-old to run up a nearly $5,000 phone bill will text no more thanks to her angry father and his hammer.. Dena Christoffersen of Cheyenne sent or received about 20,000 text messages over about a month, and her parents' phone plan didn't cover texting. Gregg Christoffersen told KUSA-TV of Denver this week that he thought texting had been disabled on her daughter's phone, which he smashed hours after getting a phone bill for more than $4,750. The family said Verizon has been willing to knock the bill down to a reasonable level. Dena has been grounded until the end of school. She said she feels bad and has learned her lesson.               |

OMG I'd kill my kid if they knew they didn't have texting....and if I had requested it be disabled on my child's phone I would not pay that bill...holy kikey!!!
    First of all, let me say that I do believe in true love. But I also deeply believe in the complexity, variety, and downright insanity of love. A lucky person loves hundreds of people in their lives, all in different ways, family love, friendship love, romantic love, all in so many shades and depths. I don't think you lose your ability--or right--to have true love by loving more than one person. In part, this is true because you never love two people the same way. That's intense. And what is a 13 year old doing texting that much anyway? My god. I think it's funny that he smashed the phone, but he'll still have to pay to bill. Hopefully they can knock some off.

lol ang it happened here too.... I was talking to my friend Matt from New Zealand tons. But we had asked the phone company to put us on an international calling plan at 20 cents a minute, so that's what I thought we had. Mom came into my room with tears just pouring down her face.. the bill was over $3,000! The phone company didn't put us on that plan when we asked them to.
I got in touch with the phone company myself and then the BBB... and they ended up taking it down to $300 like it should have been!! THANK GOD!! I hope my kids never give me heart failure like that! lol On the note of this story though... holy smokes that's a ton of text messaging! I dont have the patience for that! lol   |
