My husband and I have been tryiing to conceive for the past several months. My periods have been irregular since I can remember. In April my period was on the 21st and in may it was on the 16th. This month I have yet to have my period and I have taken at least 4 HPT and they have all been Negative. I am not sure if I am testing too soon or if I am just not preganat. Does anyone have advice or has been in a situation like this? This is awful because it is all I think about all the time. I hate that it is taking over my life. We started having intercourse again every other day last night because I should of being ovulating IF I would have had my period. Thanks for listening!

Hello and Welcome!

I used to have very irregular periods...we started trying to get pg Sept. 05 and my period was sooo irregular it wasnt working. I started taking vitex an herbal supplement, it helps to jump start ovulation and your period. I started vitex in March and got pregnant in April 06! I now have a 2yr old son and regular periods. Try vitex to regulate ur cycle and ur ovulation...hope this helps and good luck!

If I were you, I would record down when you start, how long it lasts etc. Then see a doctor to let them know what's going on. There are a lot of things that can cause irregular periods. Good luck!

I also took Vitex, it did regulate my cycles, and while I didn't get pregnant, it was easy to track my ovulation (I ended up having endimitriosis). I referred a friend of mine to Vitex for her irregular cycles and 2 months later she got pregnant due to her cycle regulating.

I'm also new to the site. I've been trying to conceive for several months now. I know this is slightly off-topic because njroll's problem is about irregular periods. Mine are entirely regular, yet I still can't have success. I've tried following a http://babymed.com/tools/pregnancy/calendar pregnancy calendar and I'm not sure if it's making a difference. Any help on what you ladies have done when TTC?

Again, sorry this is sort of off-topic, but it did say, "New to site.. Need some advice!" Giggle

I too used Vitex, really just trying to regulate my periods, DH and I were almost avoiding getting pregnant but that is how I got pregnant this time around within one cycle of it. Good luck.

When we first started TTC, I just did some basic tracking to find out how long my cyles were etc. Then I started using ovulation prediction tests and those helped. Then I started tracking temperatures etc. After about 9 months of that with no luck, we sought the help from doctors. Good luck!
