Well after some foot-work I found out that my DH's doctor's office had not sent the letter that we needed to the adoption agency. It was finally faxed on Thursday to the agency. However, (ugh) the doctor told about what my DH's condition was, that he does everything to take care of himself, and is stable with everything right now. But says he felt "inadequate" to say how his "condition" would affect his ability to parent. (Are you kidding me?)....It makes me mad because he knew (we told him) that's what they would be looking for. I think he went through it the "technical" way so someone couldn't come back and say "well you said," even though they won't do that.

So now the agency is requesting letters from his regular cardiologist as well as the team from Duke (where he had the surgery).

Please pray for us that it would work out and they would accept us soon. It's already driving my nerves crazy!

Have you guys thought of taking in a foster child? I actually went on our social services website and was reading about kids that needed homes and it really broke my heart.

OMG I can't believe the Dr did that!!!! That is just ridiculous!!!! Well I hope the letters they need get to them quickly, so they can finally approve you guys!!!! I can't imagine being in your shoes!!! You are such a brave, strong person!!!

Oh Trisha! I'm sorry to hear that...I can't believe the ups and downs you have been through. It sounds maddening!! Hang in there, and you'll be in my prayers and thoughts.

Thanks for all of the support! The one benefit of the cardiologist's office is my mom works for that group so she's going to talk to that doctor for us as well.

Frances, we talked about foster children and going that route. But we'd still have to go through this stuff for the homestudy and I don't know if we could take on a child from Foster care. I know not all of them have had the same lives but generally they're around 8 years old or older and have come from really sad lives. I think it would be easier if I wasn't working but I think for our situation right now, it would be difficult.
