Man this last part of pregnancy has just been a lovely adventure for me, from my roof leaking in multiple places, my dogs needing emergency surgery to now having strep throat, what a blast and my doc says there is nothing I can do about it but take the basic OTC meds!

Really when I got strep at the end of my pregnancy they put me on a z pack right away. The DR was afrid of the risk of fever and said strep can put you into early labor. hmmm I guess different DR different things.
Then again you might want to go ahead and start labor.  |

Yeah I agree you need antibiotics! Id go see a family doc if the 1st one said nothing! Strep isnt anything to mess with!

I don't have a family doctor and my doctor won't be back until monday and he doesn't want anyone else to see me.

Penecillian or amoxicillian. Not to scare you but you NEED to be on meds its not going to go away if its really strep and could get alot worse .

Yeah, I'm surprise the doctor didn't give you anything for it. I would also check w/ another doctor. I hope you feel better soon. Big hugs.

I always get strep maybe 3-4 times a year, and almost had my tonsils (sp) out because of it last year but I was pregnant with Troy. I am not sure why he doesn't want anyone else to treat me! I don't have a fever which is good but my little man has it too or something like it, Troy is coughing up a storm, the same way I am. I am now worried if I stay with it with out antibiotics they won't let me see the baby when he comes which is why I went in Friday so if I needed antibiotics I would feel better by the time I have him, But my doctor was gone and his fill in said to just take OTC for relief until he can see me, I am so over my doctor and his partners believe me!
