When you do the glucose screening, are we not supposed to eat before it?? Or is it ok? I am thinking I am supposed to wait...

For the first test I belive you can eat, its the 3 hour one you cant eat. I think LOL.

I think it depends on your doctor. I was not allowed to eat after midnight (I could only have water) before both my 1 hour and my 3 hour.

as i always did mine bright and early in the am i was always told not to eat after 8pm the day before

I could not eat after midnight too.

Mine was 4 hours before not to eat or maybe it was 6. I remeber not eating but it wasnt 12 hours etc.. That said I never got to try that lovely drink..Got addmitted 1st..lol.

ok, then I guess I will just be going first thing in the AM on Monday after I drop the kids off. And I will starve myself till then. LOL Don't want to mess it up!

wow I can't believe they are doing yours so early. I never got one done until like 20 weeks or so. That's kind of neat to get it over with! lol

Wow, yours is really early! Mine isn't until my next appointment (when I'll be 26 weeks). They've never said anything about not eating or anything beforehand though.

My dr does 2 of them, one in the beginning, then later.

Yeah I was always told not to eat anything at all. I have only ever gotten the one done about half way through though.

I had to fast for the first one and will be fasting again for 10 hours for this one coming up.

I was told I could eat until I drank the yummy orange drink After that nothing to eat and drink until the test.

Ok so I went this morning. I was reading the bottle of ummm... yummy.... orange drink (yuck) and it said on there that you are not supposed to eat or drink anything for at least 8 hours before the test. Glad I didn't!!!!
