1. Is your Dr. willing to do a VBAC? 2. Did your surgery go well and how was the recovery...scar tissue, staples, etc.
I was not able to have a VBAC because of my scar tissue. So, i'm on my 4th secion now. My friend just had her baby and she really wanted a VBAC but her first Dr. only closed her in one area and not two (not even sure what this means) so her new Dr. didn't feel comfortable.
I've had many friends who have been successful having VBACs and are so glad they did it that route.
I had to have one with nicholas b/c he was breech, the dr. said that as long as my next baby cooperated that i could try for a vbac, b/c i was a good candidiate, in his definition the cut was the bikini cut, i didn't have any major complications, the only thing that he said would hinder it is if i got pregnant too fast within like a year and then we'd have to play it by ear, you should be able to find a dr. who is willing, good luck!!!!
They cant tell how much scar tissue you have by looking at you. They wouldnt know that until they started cutting.
If your C-section went well the first time and your Dr is OK will doing a VBAC then you should be fine.
I had 2 c-sections because I had to have them and when she cut me open the 2nd time she said my scar tissue wasnt that bad which was good because the surgery was shorter.
Good luck!!!

I had a c-section w/ Ryan because the cord was wrapped around Ryan's neck. This time around I'm going for a second one just for personal choice. The doctor said I could have a vbac, but I thought it would be easier this way.I didn't like feeling the contraction. I know, I'm baby.lool

I had a c-section due to a breach baby the first time around. I really wanted to try for the VBAC, I had a supportive doctor and delivered vaginally without complications the second time around. It was tough but it was worth it!!!

I had a c-section the first time because I labored quickly (5 hours) and pushed for three hours with no result. They think Ainsley may have had her head in an odd position, but really there is no telling.
I had a VBAC the second time around. My Dr. didn't see any reason I couldn't try and was extremely supportive. It's the best decision I made. Recovery from my section sucked. With the VBAC there really wasn't much recovery. I felt like I could have gone home within hours of giving birth. I had a very quick labor the second time as well, but only pushed one hour.
My suggestion is that if they Dr. cannot give you a true and valid reason for not having a VBAC and you are interested in having one, then find a new Dr. Don't let you Dr. not being a fan of VBACs be the reason you don't try for one!
And you are always welcome to pick my brain about a VBAC if you'd like!

While there is always a chance of something happening, your Dr. and nurses will monitor you more closely. I didn't worry about those things because I knew I was be closely watched.

What was the reasons for the C-section last time? Talk to your doctor about the VBAC and they can tell you if you are a candidate for it. Personally, I was told to never attempt one because of various reasons. I know a few people that have had a VBAC and have had no problems with it. Good luck with whatever you decide.
