Last week a friend of mine from high school tagged me in a pic on facebook...

And honestly this has been my motivation....I printed it out at work and hung it by my desk...I was 135 in this picture....I was 17 and it was my senior year, we were taping the senior movie (Wizard of Oz, and those are pantyhose, my legs weren't that white lol )

I swear that I have ate right and worked out on the **** wii every single night...my husband said don't let it motivate me to get THAT skinny again..cause he'd hate to have to find a new wife..lol

So what motivates you....do you do like I do and have a picture? I know some people put pics on their fridge or other places...I've never done it but honestly it seems to work!

First of all, let me say that I do believe in true love. But I also deeply believe in the complexity, variety, and downright insanity of love. A lucky person loves hundreds of people in their lives, all in different ways, family love, friendship love, romantic love, all in so many shades and depths. I don't think you lose your ability--or right--to have true love by loving more than one person. In part, this is true because you never love two people the same way. Another part of it is that, if your lucky, you learn to love better with practice. The bottom line is that you have to choose who you are going to commit to-that's the foundation of true love, not a lack of other options. ~Stephenie Meyer

Right now my motivation is the fact that my pants that were loose last year are now too tight. It just makes me sick. I haven't put on that much weight but it has all settled on my waist.

I think the reason it's coming off so slow this time and I'm having to try really hard to stay motivated is that before I never really changed my lifestyle...I still wanted to eat bad and so I yo yo'd...now I feel so much better eating healthier it makes me feel good..and I see improvement in my health

I think I'm always going to have to make sure I eat the bad things in moderation as treats...and find healthy alternatives....

Like I love Chips and Dip..OMG do I love it..I mean LOVE IT people...

so now I have to choose...what do I love most about chips and dip....the dip of course...so now I do celery or other veggies and dip..and give up the chips.. (well once in a while I'll have two or three chips..see moderation)

Darn I think I got off topic and now I want chips and dip...say no Michelle!

I'd have to say my motivation is the weather. It'll be warming in a few months and I would like to wear my swimsuit and look good in it, and other summer clothing.

I actually have 2 things that motivate me. The first is my health. Diabetes runs on both sides of my family and I have a heart condition known as wolf-parkinson white that showed itself after my open heart surgery. I am hoping that in loosing weight and getting healthy I can avoid another heart surgery and getting diabetes.

My other motivator, the one that I remind myself of whenever I want to cheat, is Italy. I am going to be meeting tons of new people there, including family I've never met, and, well....simply put I want to look, and feel, fabulous, LOL.

my motivation came from graduate school. Funny, huh? As I sat through my health assessment class in my nurse practitioner program, we talked about all the health consequences of being overweight (I had heard it all before) and for some reason it clicked with me, and it became personal. I have heart disease and diabetes on both sides of my family. And I decided I wasn't going to be a statistic, and was going to get healthy.

Its a slow process and I have days where I eat what I shouldn't, but honestly, I don't look at it like I am "dieting" I am making lifestyle changes and my eating and exercising doesn't have to be perfect. In the past when I fell off the bandwagon for a day or two I would give up, but now I jump back on and keep trucking.

Also, I am doing it for my girls. I have been overweight as long as I can remember. I want to be a good example for them so they know the importance of health and also because I want to live a long healthy life.

Also, these quotes gives me motivation when I want to quit

"Anything is possible. You can be told that you have a 90-percent chance or a 50-percent chance or a 1-percent chance, but you have to believe, and you have to fight."

"Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit, however, it lasts forever"

Michelle,I dont look at it as a diet either..its a life change and you can still have the things you love like chips and dips(i love chips)just in moderation..I still drink soda but I cut back and plan to cut back more.I dont eat really bad..but I have cut back portion sizes too.I think thats probably the big problem ,people eat way to big portions.
