From Snopes. I myself am guilty of storing opened pancake mixes in my cupboards and not checking the dates. Just wanted to share...

I think i remember hearing about the kid who died from it.We buy pancake mix & its gone within 3-4 days of buying it.Im VERY paranoid about stuff like that & check dates on EVERYTHING.I even check the dates on baby wipes and deodorant before i buy them.Thats a good reminder though aso thank you for sharing.Mold also forms in mascara & liquid makeup so you should check & replace that too.I think they say you shouldnt use it after 3 months or something like that.

LOL I just threw a box out that was expired when I cleaned my cabinets out! I'm funny about food, I watch expiration dates religiously!

First of all, let me say that I do believe in true love. But I also deeply believe in the complexity, variety, and downright insanity of love. A lucky person loves hundreds of people in their lives, all in different ways, family love, friendship love, romantic love, all in so many shades and depths. I don't think you lose your ability--or right--to have true love by loving more than one person. In part, this is true because you never love two people the same way. Another part of it is that, if your lucky, you learn to love better with practice. The bottom line is that you have to choose who you are going to commit to-that's the foundation of true love, not a lack of other options. ~Stephenie Meyer

sounds like the risk is pretty minimal, but I always closely watch my expiration dates anyways! I actually just threw out an very old thing of bisquick the other day before making Shelly's sausage balls!

Wow thats pretty scary. I don't usually think about things like that expiring for some reason. I should check my boxes. Actually we even just started buying the jugs with the pancake mix and all you add is water and shake it, those are really convinent and you don't have to worry about things expiring.
