Post your Soup and Stew recipes Here.....

Grandma's Chicken Noodle Soup (Breezychas)

INGREDIENTS (Nutrition)

* 2 1/2 cups wide egg noodles
* 12 cups chicken broth
* 1 1/2 tablespoons salt
* 1 teaspoon poultry seasoning
* 1 cup chopped celery
* 1 cup chopped onion
* 1/3 cup cornstarch
* 1/4 cup water
* 3 cups diced, cooked chicken meat

DIRECTIONS

1. Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add egg noodles and boil for 8 minutes, or until tender. Drain, and rinse under cool running water.
****Here is where I differ a little, I add cut up carrots and boil with noodles, I also add chicken boulioun cubes to the water****

2. In a large saucepan or Dutch oven, combine broth, salt, and poultry seasoning. Bring to a boil. Stir in celery and onion. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer 15 minutes.
3. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water together until cornstarch is completely dissolved. Gradually add to soup, stirring constantly. Stir in noodles and chicken, and heat through.

For the chicken, I use to bake a few pieces and then shred it up for it, but this last Sunday I was running behind so I bought a baked chicken already done at Kroger..

Baked Potato Soup (Breezychas)

INGREDIENTS

* 3 bacon strips, diced
* 1 small onion, chopped
* 1 clove garlic, minced
* 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
* 1 teaspoon salt
* 1 teaspoon dried basil (I usually don't use this)
* 1/2 teaspoon pepper
* 3 cups chicken broth
* 2 large baked potatoes, peeled and cubed
* 1 cup half-and-half cream
* 1/2 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
* Shredded Cheddar cheese
* Minced fresh parsley (or this)

DIRECTIONS

1. In a large saucepan, cook bacon until crisp. Drain, reserving 1 tablespoon drippings. Set bacon aside. Saute onion and garlic in the drippings until tender. Stir in flour, salt, basil and pepper; mix well. Gradually add broth. Bring to boil; boil and stir for 2 minutes. Add the potatoes, cream and hot pepper sauce; heat through but do not boil. Garnish with bacon, cheese and parsley.

**I also add shredded cheese to the soup to make it cheesey**

First of all, let me say that I do believe in true love. But I also deeply believe in the complexity, variety, and downright insanity of love. A lucky person loves hundreds of people in their lives, all in different ways, family love, friendship love, romantic love, all in so many shades and depths. I don't think you lose your ability--or right--to have true love by loving more than one person. In part, this is true because you never love two people the same way. Another part of it is that, if your lucky, you learn to love better with practice. The bottom line is that you have to choose who you are going to commit to-that's the foundation of true love, not a lack of other options. ~Stephenie Meyer

1. Combine the potatoes, celery, onion, ham and water in a stockpot. Bring to a boil, then cook over medium heat until potatoes are tender, about 10 to 15 minutes. Stir in the chicken bouillon, salt and pepper.
2. In a separate saucepan, melt butter over medium-low heat. Whisk in flour with a fork, and cook, stirring constantly until thick, about 1 minute. Slowly stir in milk as not to allow lumps to form until all of the milk has been added. Continue stirring over medium-low heat until thick, 4 to 5 minutes.
3. Stir the milk mixture into the stockpot, and cook soup until heated through. Serve immediately.

i made this just yesterday, i added carrots and used garlic salt and onion salt. the only thing that i measured was the cx bouillon.
