Help...okay I've always been scared to grill my own seafood...I need some tips...

How do you prepare your seafood to cook...

First of all, let me say that I do believe in true love. But I also deeply believe in the complexity, variety, and downright insanity of love. A lucky person loves hundreds of people in their lives, all in different ways, family love, friendship love, romantic love, all in so many shades and depths. I don't think you lose your ability--or right--to have true love by loving more than one person. In part, this is true because you never love two people the same way. Another part of it is that, if your lucky, you learn to love better with practice. The bottom line is that you have to choose who you are going to commit to-that's the foundation of true love, not a lack of other options. ~Stephenie Meyer

I melt butter with lemon pepper, put the shrimp in it to set for about 30 min's then put it on skewers to grill.
Or we have just spread the butter on the skewer of shrimp and put it on the grill, and rebutter while it's cooking.
Not sure why i said 'i' dh does all the grilling, lol

I would say it sounds like you grilled them too long, shrimps cook so fast!

I marinate mine in italian dressing or some sort of marinade, scewer them and grill, it just takes a few minutes really.

I buy the frozen and thaw them under water

Here's my favorite marinade for grilling shrimp. I grill about 3-4 minutes per side. I buy mine in frozen two pound bags...the ones behind the counter typically have been frozen previously, so I prefer to buy ones that are frozen that I can keep frozen and use when I want them.

CAJUN SHRIMP MARINADE

1/2 c. vegetable oil
1/4 c. soy sauce
1 tsp. freshly grated lemon peel
1/4 c. fresh lemon juice
1/4 c. fresh parsley
2 tbsp. each Worcestershire sauce and red wine vinegar
1 tbsp. dry mustard
1/2 tbsp. paprika
1/2 tbsp. minced garlic
1/4 tsp. ground red pepper

Marinate raw peeled and deveined shrimp for 1/2 hour. Thread shrimp on skewers and grill. Reserve marinade for dipping.

We buy the frozen ones, the bigger ones are easier to peel.

I just marinate them either in a bottled marinade or just lime/lemon juice, olive oil and seasonings. Skewer and grill till they are opaque.
I do well with them on the grill but whenever I try to cook them another way, I overcook them lol
