Ok I just finished book 3 of the Dark Hunter series. It is midnight and I am sooooooo tired. My house is trashed and my kids got ignored all night. But it was worth it, I love happy endings!!!

shame on me....I knew I wasn't going to stick to the "no buying more books until I've read what I have." I had a $5 off coupon for Border's that was going to expire this week...and I couldn't very well let it expire I behaved myself though, I only bought 1 book.
Has anyone read Island of Lost Girls by Jennifer McMahon? Apparently it is about a woman who sees a little girl abducted at a gas station and joins the search to find her, l and discovers clues to the dissapearence of her best friend when they were little

Has anyone heard of any of these, and are they good??
I've read The Accidental Vampire by Lyndsay Sands, actually I have read a ton of hers so I can't remember which one the accidental vampire is. They are all good though, not as intense as Twilight, in other words yes you will be able to put it down and do other things. LOL They have a more comic twist to them I found.
Hmmm I think Accidental vamp is the one about Elvie and what's his face. Her series follows a family of vampires so you get to meet other characters that you can read about too.
Anywho. I read The Pact by Jodi Picoult and it was really good, restored my faith in her after reading and not liking My sister's keeper. Then I moved onto 90 minutes in heaven by Don Piper, an autobiography of a man who died and spent 90 minutes in heaven before returning to life. It was okay but, not good and not great but it was okay. The first half was excruciatingly boring for me to get through but the second half was pretty okay. There was quite a few inspirational moment in it that made it worthwhile for me to have spent the time on reading it.
Last night I tried to start reading Alice in Exile by Piers Paul read, but just was not feeling it so put it back to the bottom of the stack and will likely choose a new one tonight to read, maybe Nicholas Sparks.
It is wonderful to have someone to wallow in my misery with me. I cried for days & days & days with this book. Hugs Dani...you are new to this so you will need a bit of time to adjust It is horrible isn't it?

IYO, do you think the Fever series is an appropriate series for a very mature 14 year old? My sister Jessi wants to read them, she is more of an avid reader than I am. She is the one who forced me to read Twilight, She reads adult books constantly, as she is bored with stuff written for her age. What do you ladies think? Should I give her the books? The sexual references and inuendoes aren't too bad, I'm sure she's read worse.

Well being she is not my child use your own judgement on that Danni.... But as far as my daughter goes I wouldnt encourage it just because sexual content for me is not for anyone under 18. I am way more restrictive of sexual content than I am violence on TV and books for some reason. JMO. But like I said you know her better than I do....

I agree...while right NOW it may not be that bad...I know Karen Monings other books & her style of writing...I am sure it will get more sexual later on...I am almost positive. So...total judgement call on if you would recommend it or not.
With that being said...I read this book series: HOUSE OF NIGHT SERIES These books were in the YOUNG READER section & they were totally NOT young reader in my opinion...in one of them it is talking about blow jobs right off the bat.

Yaaaaa.....NOT a young person topic IMO either Misty. Blowjobs??? I cringe knowing that my daughter KNOWS what that is.... I remember her coming home from school when she was in 1st grade and said 'mom, the guys on the bus said I cant sit in the back of the bus until i give them a blowjob....what is that?' Ack!!!!
On a lighter note...I DID start Faefever, against my better judgement, but I didnt get too far because I am exhausted and have to go to bed. I got as far as the part where she had the cop eat unseelie to see what was happening to the city. More reading for me in the morning tomorrow...

I just started reading Mulitple Blessings by Jon & Kate Goesslin. Its pretty good so far. I watch their show Jon & Kate plus 8, but this gives more details into her pregnancy and birth of the sextuplets.
I just finished Bloodfever and am waiting for my copy of Faefever to get here... I picked up the first 4 Sookie books at the library and the first in the Highlander series so I should be stocked up for awhile
I just finished Island of Lost Girls by Jennifer McMahon, it was pretty good but not wonderful. I am about to start Family Tree by Barbara Delinsky, then once I am done that I am going to start the Dark Hunter series.

The Dark Hunter series ROCKS!!!! I would read those before anything else if you have them. JMO
I had to leave my Faefever book in my bedroom because the house really needs some attention, I would be so embarrassed if anyone dropped by right now. But I am itching to ignore the world and crawl into bed and read it until its done!!

First of all, let me say that I do believe in true love. But I also deeply believe in the complexity, variety, and downright insanity of love. A lucky person loves hundreds of people in their lives, all in different ways, family love, friendship love, romantic love, all in so many shades and depths. I don't think you lose your ability--or right--to have true love by loving more than one person. In part, this is true because you never love two people the same way. Another part of it is that, if your lucky, you learn to love better with practice. The bottom line is that you have to choose who you are going to commit to-that's the foundation of true love, not a lack of other options. ~Stephenie Meyer

Ok and I hate to sound morbid here....but dont you ever wish that someone would send you to jail for about a month in strict lock down with a stack of books???? I DO!!! As long as I could have my job when I get back, my kids were taken care of I would say lock me up and throw away the key!!! I have not had any time to read lately and its bugging me. Darn real life!!!!

I know I know....I was driving in the car today listening to the cd for the 10th 100th millionth time...and started wondering if it's mentally stable to fall in love with a book character...like literally!!! lol
