Okay Misty and I were talking on facebook about Twilight and thought a book club thread would be a good idea. So here it is the official BOL book club thread! We tried a forum a few years ago and it was a flop so we'll see how this goes and if it is well used we can Ask Chelle for a forum again!

So what are you reading and is it a discussion worthy book?? I say discussion worthy because in between my good books I read a lot of trashy romance novels and they just aren't discussion worthy. LOL

I am going to start reading the Twilight books this week.

I posted before about Alice Sebold's The Almost Moon. I started it today and really could not get into it, it did not hold my attention at all.

I apsolutely LOVE Debbie Macomber's Blossom Street Series. There are 4 so far, The Shop on Blossom Street, A Good Yarn, Back on Blossom Street, and Twenty Wishes. Twenty Wishes is definitly my favorite! All of the books carry through with the same characters, so you have to read them in order or you'll be lost.

Well I just finished reading The Shack which I recommend to anyone and everyone! http://theshackbook.com/

After that I read 2 trashy scottish romance noevls by Donna Fletcher... I think that was her name and a crazy suspense novel about a serial killer who "collects" women, tortures adn mutilates them, yeah I know gross but it was a good book, by Alex Kava.

Right now I am reading Marley and Me by John Grogan.
http://www.johngroganbooks.com/marley.html

I plan to pick up the Twilight series to read now that I have seen the movie Twilight and here is the list of books I have sitting in my house waiting to be read.
90 minutes in Heaven
Until the Day you die by Tina Wainscott
True Believer by Nicholas Sparks
Alice in Exile by Piers Paul Read
The Constant Princess by Philippa Gregory
Liars & Thieves by Stephen Coonts
The Red Tent by Anita Diamant
Girl, Get your money Straight (non fiction financial book)
Honeymoon by James Patterson
My sister's keeper by Jodi Picoult as well as another Jodi Picoult one that is hiding upstairs for my stocking to read
Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden

Phew! I have to much to read right now. LOL

Oh I am sooooooooo glad that we have a book club! I am an addict to reading.

Right now I am on the 3rd book of the Twilight series and it is like heroin. Seriously. I could stop eating and everything else before I finish these books, but my family keeps dragging me away from the couch and tearing the book from my fingers.

I like a large variety though...I have read all of Jodi Picault books. They were good, she is an excellent author. But I read a tad of self help/psychology books too. I recently read The Last Lecture. It was ok....not as good as I thought. But I am very interested in seeing what you all read and trying some of those as well. I think The Shack should be coming in the mail soon and I am pumped to read it.

I can't wait to read it, if it's that good! I love a book that can make me cry. I think it will have to move up in the lineup to be the one I read next!! I'd love to take you up on the offer to send them my way but shipping of books to Canada is realy expensive and I work in a used bookstore so I'll come across them all eventually and not pay a cent for them. LOL Thanks for offering though, just let me know which ones are really really good so that I can make sure to grab those ones as soon as they come in. I have only read one other of Jodi Picoult's books and I can't even remember what it was called but it was excellent.

Me me!!!

I mostly read fluff....like harlequin romance novels...

But I love biographies too...and once in a while will read another book if someone suggests it!

Ones I have read this year that I recommend...

Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert...I know it's an older book....but I normally don't get into stuff like that....this book really helped me evolve I guess you can say

The Heroin diaries by Nikki Sixx........honestly I couldn't put it down, my husband said it wouldn't be something I'd like...and I couldn't stop reading...

I'm currently reading the Maureen McCormack Autobiography...Here's the Story....so far it's pretty good...

First of all, let me say that I do believe in true love. But I also deeply believe in the complexity, variety, and downright insanity of love. A lucky person loves hundreds of people in their lives, all in different ways, family love, friendship love, romantic love, all in so many shades and depths. I don't think you lose your ability--or right--to have true love by loving more than one person. In part, this is true because you never love two people the same way. Another part of it is that, if your lucky, you learn to love better with practice. The bottom line is that you have to choose who you are going to commit to-that's the foundation of true love, not a lack of other options. ~Stephenie Meyer
