Lily has been sooooooo fussy, I have no idea what her problem is but she is driving me insane!!!! She isn't eating, she isn't sleeping well, and for as long as she is awake she's only happy when someone is holding her! I don't know what to do. She isn't sick, not as far as I can tell. She refuses to eat any cereals or baby food, and it's even tough get her to take a bottle, she turns her head and refuses to take the nipple.

I really don't get it and I'm at the end of my rope. She has spent the majority of the week in her crib crying because I can't handle it and I just can't hold her all day.

The last 3 nights she has absolutely refused to go to bed in her crib, we got her to sleep in the swing then moved her. Last night we had to put her in the swing 3 times before we were able to keep her asleep during the move from the swing to the bed. She has been waking every 2-3 hours at night to eat.

She got her shots yesterday and I asked the public health nurse for help, of course all she said was to keep trying the foods and just put up with it. Doesn't help me much when I'm ripping my hair out trying to figure out what to do with her when she's not sleeping. Her schedule is now completely out, since she has not been going to bed until at least 10 all week (Not that we haven't been trying!) and she's not eating at her regular times.

Anyone have any ideas?? I feel like a terrible mom leaving her in her crib to cry, and I'm worried that she will associate her crib with crying and being left alone now. I just don't know what else to do because I can't stand to listen to the screaming and the only way to avoid it is to put her in her room with the door shut and block it out. I have a video monitor so I can see her, I know she is safe but I'm completely at a loss. Rayna was NEVER this bad, she had a couple months where she was colicky but it was gas and we knew what the problem was. This time around I have no idea, if she were uncomfortable/hungry etc would she not continue to cry when we held her? She stops completely and even goes so far as to laugh and smile as long as someone is holding her.

Could it be separation anxiety? Rayna didn't go through that until she was around 18 months so if it is, how I do deal with it with a 6 month old?

Well, I know at 6 months they go through a little growth spurt so that may be why she is waking up to eat every 2-3 hours. It could also be teeth, Troy refuses to eat most things when he is getting new teeth in. Have you tried maybe some mashed potatoes or mashed bananas something a little different. She also could be constipated. Just keep your head up and try your hardest to stay calm, ask DH to help as much as he can and even Rayna too. Also, maybe you can try the formula in a super slow sippy cup, you can introduce them at around this time anyways. Good luck Hugs

I have no idea but i wanted to give you Hugs i never went through that but you aren't a bad mommy some babies just need more attention, and even in the infant care classes the teachers will tell you if u have done everything and know they are okay it's okay to let them cry, nicholas only ever did that kinda stuff when he was teething. Hopefully she will calm down soon!!

Seth fussed for the last 2 weeks or so and hes got ear infections. If you cant pin point a reason id take her in and let the dr tell you theres nothing wrong and go form there. For teh time being advil is a godsend! Seth is also cutting 4 teeth all at once , massive sepretation issues learning to sit and cral and the lsiut goes on and on!

That was how Tyler was when he got his second round of teeth in. I gave him some motrin and some teething tablets and out for the count. I hear you because Tyler would not go to bed and he kept fussing and stuff and finally I held him in the chair and he slept that way.

But I also took him in to get his ears checked and the DR said just teeth. Some babies just hurt so bad they dont even want a bottle. So hold on and maybe see if someone can come help you for a day. My sister did and it was a blessing to get a nap in.

No good advice for you other than have a glass of wine! Sorry she's testing you right now. I know its rough having a cranky little one. Could be a number of things, but if it doesn't subside soon, see a ped if you can.

Thanks girls... She's still super fussy, it got better for a couple of days but seems to have started up again.

I still can't pinpoint it, but we haven't been to a doctor... I really don't think she is sick or has an ear infection or anything, she hasn't had any fever at all. She just seems annoyed and is easily bored.

She did eat some applesauce this morning, about half a jar. Then I tried to give her some rice cereal and she wanted nothing to do with it. She downed a bottle after that and was fussy for a good 2 1/2 hours until she finally passed out from crying. I did give her a little bit of gripe water but no Tylenol or Advil. I really have reservations about over-using medicines...

All I can figure is that it's teething, but we have been thinking that for a while now and she doesn't have any visible teeth yet.

What are these teething tablets? I have heard about them but have yet to see them. Where do they come from? Are they natural? I feel a lot better using something that can't be OD'd on or allow a resistance to be built to it, especially when I'm not 100% sure that teething is the cause for fussiness...

Try The tylenol or advil and see if it makes a difference. It may take afew doses though. If that does help youll know its fussy form pain and at her age it very well could be teeth. The teething tablets are Hylands teething tablets . most stores now have them here in the US . Not sure on Canada.

Another thing you could try is take a drop or 2 of tylenol or advil and rum right on her top and bottom gums. That will help pretty quick then just give the rest of the dose. Seems to work pretty well with my nephew .Hes 7 months and cutting 4 teeth. You can see the white of the teeth on the bottom and top!

rum? Did you mean to say rub?

She seems to be getting a little better again but she is still fairly fussy. She'll now sit happily and play for about an hour after she wakes up. She has been taking the pureed foods but ONLY fruits and I managed to sneak some sweet potatoes into her the other day as well. She refuses to eat any rice or other cereals... too bland, maybe? She still wont eat any veggies besides the sweet potatoes.

I don't get it!! I don't remember Rayna being this much of a pain in the arse as a baby... !! lol...
