Hey girls! It has been a long time since I have been on for more than a few seconds here and there so I thought I'd update you all on my gorgeous little girl.
She is already over 5 months old, which still shocks me as I type it!! It doesn't seem like that long ago I was anticipating my VBAC, then welcoming my little one into the world. I had an unpleasant bout of PPD from about week 5 to 15, give or take. It was awful but I chugged along and go through it. Life is busy between taking care of both my girls and working 4-5 days a week at the daycare (for those of you who dont know, my girls come to work with me.) It has been interesting, I love being back at work and not stuck in the house all the time but it has taken a toll on all of us... we have been sick pretty well non-stop, one after the other. Right now Lily has hand foot and mouth disease, which has been going around the daycare. Shes got little blisters on her hands and feet... it sucks, but she doesnt seem to be bothered all that much.
She is not sleeping as well as she used to, she goes to bed about 8:00 then is up at 1-1:30 for a bottle, back to bed then up again at 4 or 5 and she wont go back to sleep. Its frustrating but we are working on correcting that, I think she might be confused about day and night because I draw the blinds for naps and she naps for long periods of time during the day. I have been leaving her blinds open during the daytime, and she doesnt nap as long. As for the 4-5am waking, since she wont take a bottle anyway I have just turned off the monitor and gone back to sleep. She coos and plays for a few minutes, fusses for about 10 minutes then falls asleep and stays that way until about 8:30. So, shes not a horrible sleeper but she was better before so I have to complain... haha!!
She has been rolling back to front for a while and has started to roll front to back recently. She does little crunches which the girls at the gym think is hilarious! Shes got a full head of curly brown hair and her eyes are still blue so far!! I thought they would turn brown since her hair is brown but I guess my blue eye genes are tougher than I thought! She doesnt have any teeth yet but she loves to chew on things like large carrots and baby mum-mum crackers. So far her favorite foods are rice and peas but I am only on the stage one foods so she hasnt tried a lot yet. Surprisingly she isnt into fruits at all, but Im sure that day will come. Its funny, cause I never craved sweets with her, I craved things like fresh veggies and meat. Im sure its not connected at all but when Rayna was a baby she loves all things sweet and wouldnt touch the veggies unless I mixed them into cereal and tricked her!!
Anyway, at the 4 month shots Lily weighed in at 15lbs, 5oz. That was a little while ago and Im sure my little porker has grown since then, she is already in 6-9m clothes and shes got some super-cute chubby legs and arms!
All in all she is a pretty good baby, definitely high maintenance but she makes up for that in personality. Shes a cheery little baby with lots of smiles and cuddles to give, and even a laugh here and there although Rayna seems to steal most of those moments. Lily absolutely LOVES her big sister, she wants to be near her all the time and always stares and smiles when shes around.
I am on a different computer than the one with my photos on it, but I will try to get on again and post some recent pics soon.
Sorry for all the bad punctuation, my computer is adding in weird characters in the place of apostrophes...
