I've been trying for three days to update an old journal entry but I get a HTTP 500 Internal error every time. So, I deleted the entry and tried to post a "new" updated entry, and I'm getting the error again. This post was from 2004. Would that be causing the problem? I haven't had any problems posting a new entry for 2005.

I'm sorry you are experiencing difficulties. So that we may
assist you further, we will need tn exact error message.
Let's fix your computer so you get an exact error message
when things go awry rather than the generic 500 "friendly" error.
Please do this:


Open your browser
Click Tools
Click Internet Options
Click the Advanced Tab
UNcheck the box that says "Show friendly HTTP error messages
Click Apply
Click OK

Now this will assist us in figuring out exactly what is going on.

After you have made the above adjustments, please go back
and do what you were doing before. If you don't receive an
error, great! Problem solved. If you do receive an error
message, please copy and paste the *exact* error message
you receive into your response. Also please copy and paste
the web page address (url) that you were on, and be sure to
explain exactly what it was you were doing when you received
the error.

I was trying to add a new journal entry when this error occurred. The message I received is as follows:

Looks like you're trying to make a gigantous entry consisting of more than 8000 characters. Either make you entry shorter, or break it down to two seperate entries and you should be fine.
