I have read that it can take 12 weeks vs the normal 6 weeks it would take it to normally come back.

Your period returning can vary when breastfeeding. I think with Ainsley it was about 9 weeks and with Amelia it was about 5 months before I had some sort of period...I'm just now having a normal period for me again.

It may not come back at all til several months after you stop. Just varies form person to person and by how often they feed etc.

It can stay away for a LOOOOONG time. lol And you can STILL get preggo!!! Trust me, I never got AF back with Baylee, and when she was 6 months old, I had the "flu" for over 2 weeks, and sore boobs till I realized I was PREGGO... AGAIN! lol With Dylan I got it back at about 6 or 7 months.

I did not get mine back for 9 months after having Alexis.. My Gyn. wanted me to go on birth control after having Alexis just so I would not get preggo while I was still breast feeding..

Glad to hear she is doing so well..
