Yes, I realize this is a weird question, LOL... But I am stuck! Lily sleeps long periods during the night (4-6 hours) and I keep waking up soaked in milk!! I have tried sleeping in a bra with nursing pads but I find that when I do, my breasts are sore when I wake up and the milk ducts swell around the bottom where the underwire would be on a regular bra.

I have resorted to pumping a couple of times in the night but when I don't it doesn't seem to be affecting my milk production during the day when she eats every 2-4 hours.

I don't have a regular sports bra but I'm thinking it might be better to sleep in something like that... I have a sports bra style nursing bra but I ran into the same problems with that as I do with the regular ones.

Any suggestions?

I tried a sports bra too but that also didn't work. I have big boobs too so they were always in the way if I was trying to sleep and I could never sleep on my belly. Try only sleeping on your back, and in a nursing tank top with good quality pads in or in your tank, no bra with a towel folded and over your boobs inside your shirt. You will go through wash clothes but it will help! Oh yeah, and DH picked up a Canadian penny today and was so amazed, like it was worth millions. I made him aware it was only canadian money, but it made me think of you! LMAO

I sleep in a nursing bra with pads and sleep on my side. I still leak occassionally, although I haven't in about a week, so maybe I'm past that. There probably isn't a great solution to it other than getting through that stage. I don't know that I'd pump during the night though b/c that in theory would just increase your production at night and make the problem continue longer.

Gosh, I'm not really much help here. I usually wear my nursing tank or my sleep bra at night. Have you tried wool nursing pads? That may help with the wetness, but I'm not sure what to suggest for the pain.

I used the nipple shields to help with the raw-ness I was experiencing. They have a cup thing with a sponge that soaks the milk up.
