Just wondering if anyone knows whether caffeine goes through into breast milk? It doesn't seem to affect Lily but I am scared to have more than one cup a day. I'm extremely tired and need a pick-me-up and fresh fruit & vitamins just aren't doing it for me!!

It's ok, it does get into the breast milk, but try to drink it right after you feed her, plus you drank caffine while you were pregnant so that might be why it doesn't affect miss lilly. Dont go ove the top though, like monsters and red bulls! good luck!

Yes it does go into bm. I had to be careful and not drink it in the evening or we were up all night long.

I can't live without my caffeine...had it when pregnant and I have it now. I just don't have a lot of it (ok...so maybe I do, but according to KellyMom I'm still well within the okay range) and I only have it in the morning and early afternoon.

Here is Kelly Mom's info on it and it has some great charts:

http://www.kellymom.com/health...estyle/caffeine.html

It suggests an upper limit of 500 mg a day for a nursing mother which equals 11 canned diet cokes...I'm definitely drinking much less than that! LOL
