I Have Too Much Spare Time

My body doesn't respond to the pump the way it did with Ainsley which isn't surprising since I soley pumped with Ainsley...now it prefers Amelia over the pump.

I've been on Fenugreek and haven't noticed a huge change. I did at first, but then I was sick and now its back down. I pump three times at work, three hours apart and pump both sides. I'm barely pumping enough to fill her bottles for day and sometimes not even that. And I know she's going to probably want more in her bottles soon. I think the lack of supply with pumping is translating into a lack of supply on weekends when i can be with her all day (which has been rare since I have had to work a lot of weekends lately) because she seems to get frustrated.

Does anyone have any more suggestions? Anyone have luck with the prescription meds? I dont' know if my Dr. would prescribe them or not. Also, I need to build up some stock in my freezer for when I go to Vegas. Do you think there would be any harm in pumping every night when she goes to bed and emptying both sides for freezing? She sleeps through the night.

I pumped at night when my supply was low and he seemed to be sleeping good. I did it before I went to bed. He would go down around 8pm. I would pump between 10 and 11 and he wouldn't be up until 2 or 3. I would also pump again in the morning on my full side and feed him off of my lower producer (after he started eating solids). The sitter would feed him breakfast about 30 min later. I started pumping both sides before work when he started sleeping later, but that also meant he would need an extra bottle from the sitter. I did have some luck with fenugreek. It added a few extra ounces a day. I did good if I was able to pump 12 oz at work.

I wish I could help. I have always been in low producer. On the plus side Alexis has never taken more than 5 ounces at 1 time, but she usually only drinks 4 ounces. I use to pump on the weekends also, just so I would have some extra for the week. I would pump in the morning and at night on the weekends. I pump in the morning before work, then 3 times at work. at least I used to. Now I only pump one at work. since she can have whole milk. Good luck. NONE of the drugs helped me, including the Fenugreek.

Check out kellymom and make sure your not taking in any of the things that hinder your supply. Then see what it says to eat to help. I know oatmeal is one not sure though of others.

My first pumping session at work gets over half of the milk I pump a day b/c its emptying everything from over night. It doesn't help that she's been a bad nurser for a few days as well...we go back for a check on her ear tomorrow and I have a feeling its still infected. It's just frustrating...I'm not ready to quit or to have to supplement. It's been up and down...hopefully things will be back up next week.

how much fenugreek are you taking? You can take I think its up to 16 pills per day. Also your dr can give you reglan, it will increase your supply. Also eating real oatmeal will hopefully help. I hope you can figure it out!

I've never taken reglan for supply production but I was prescribed it for morning sickness.... and the downside to that is it can make you very drowsy.

I've been taking nine capsules of Fenugreek a day. I'll take a look at Kellymom again and see what it says.

I ate oatmeal this morning! But does instant oatmeal count?
