I haven't given Amelia as many bottles as I probably should have. I can get her to take them okay, but DH gets frustrated doing it...she takes a few minutes to figure it out each time. I'm sure the daycare workers will be able to get her to take them. I've tried several different bottles and she doesn't seem to necessarily be able to use one better than the other.

What bottles does your child like best or what did they like best when they were on bottles? We used Dr. Brown's for Ainsley and have a full set of them, but I don't know if they are going to be the best choice for Amelia.

I have no clue. The only way I got emma to take a bottle (and she threw a fit anyways) was by getting the nipple that was the same kind as her paci (nuk). I think Emmalyn has only used a bottle once or twice. Clarity absolutely refused bottles completely and would just scream until I got home from work... which is one of the reasons I just ended up quitting and staying home (I was waitressing and wasn't bringing home much anyways so it wasn't a big loss). Ariel always used the Playtex drop in bottles.. but I started her on bottles early so it was never really a problem.

She won't even take a paci (not that I'm complaining) so I can't go for that kind of nipple since there isn't one! I just want to make it as easy as possible on her and her daycare workers!

In the beginning both boys took the latex nipples best as opposed to the silicone nipples because it was the most similar to mommy. I also started off with fast flow nipples so they could get the hang of it. I had a strong letdown so they never had to work at breastfeeding. Once they got the hang of it all then Brantley used the orthidontics Gerber nipples and Jonathan used soothie.

I was going to sugest trying a different nipple. Maybe a bottle with a bigger nipple like maybe the nuk ones and then work on switching to the ones you have. Can you take her in and let the workers give her a bottle while your getting Ainsley for a few days and see if they have any issues?

Will they let you leave her for a few hours ech day next week ? That way whoevers in the room with her can see if what you have is going to work and she will get used to a couple bottles each day form someone else? Thats what they did in the daycare i was at so they werent just thrown in all at once.

The Nuk bottles are very, very close to mothers nipple and have the wide bottom so they dont forget how to latch because they still have to, I would try those! Let us know.

That would be good, but I don't think they will b/c they have a full room right now and are transitioning kids out to make room...besides...I don't want to share her on my last week with her Giggle

I've tried Dr. Brown and Avent so far. I think I have a Playtex Drop In, a Gerber bottle and an Evenflo bottle in storage. I'll give all three of those a try next and see what works best.

Rayna was over 2 months old by the time I gave her a bottle and the only kind she would take is the Playtex Orthodontic nipple... It's strange looking, very flat... But it worked really well for her.

I bought a bottle called "Adiri" stage 1 nurser for Lily, I am not planning to introduce the bottle for at least 4 weeks but it is a very unique one... it is completely rounded at the top and is meant to mimic the breast. They are a little pricey and I have yet to try it but I have heard good things... you could try looking that up if you have trouble.

Tyler likes the soothies bottles and I love the fact that the bottom snaps on for storage with the formula when he needs it. its a silicone type nipple but it seems to work for him.

We tried a Playtex bottle with a drop in that I had around the house tonight....didn't work. Then we went to the Avent b/c she's take it several time. Then we went to the Dr. Browns again and she took it after about 10 minutes of screaming...most b/c I think she was tired of screaming...she'd been screaming about 30 minutes at that point. Ugh! I went from one who wouldn't nurse to one who won't take a bottle. As much as I hate it, I figure a few days at daycare and getting hungry...she will take it. I know she can b/c she has, she just prefers not to you know?

My sister used this bottle b/c my nephew was giving her a run for her money. It didn't work for him, I think they finally got the drop ins to work. Good luck.

She is still giving us the go around with the bottle. I called the lactation consultant today and they pretty much told me what I've already read. They left my message on the machine so a second one called me and gave me the kellymom.com website...which of course I already knew about.

I told DH I was going to leave the room tonight while he tries. He thinks its dumb, but its the only thing I can think of we haven't done yet. He's in there with her right now, but I don't think he's even trying...ugh! He argues all the tips I give him and disagrees...as if he's a breastfeeding expert.

I'm going to buy one Adiri bottle tomorrow and give it a shot. If that doesn't work...then she'll get hungry at daycare next week and figure it out.

We are having bottle trouble too. But, I have only tried one kind so if I can't get her to take it I will try others. I hope you can get things worked out with Amelia.
